I'm Happy

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together? I woke up at 3am, just absolutely sure of how to finish my journal, and now, it's just about done. It just does not photograph well (really. I'm not just saying that), but I may try again later. I've also got scans of my two pieces in it.

This one was planned and is based on an old image I scanned and photoshopped (thank you DJ and Joanne and everyone else who has been helping with my learning curve there).

The second piece was something that had been on the counter in my studio, in one form or another, for quite some time. I'm not sure why, but I picked it up and it seemed to come together at last (Judy, do you recognize the shutter blind pieces you sent in my holiday package?) and the bottom it reads, "down below, in a lovely valley, a train moved like a toy on a tiny railroad track."

I'm excited about leaving for Artiscape on Thursday morning. I hope I survive my business trip and get back in time to love on the kiddies before I leave.

Indulge Me

One last set of pictures. It photographed much better with the sun up.

Here is the outside

And here, a bit better of an idea of the inside, with my art sitting on top of a stack of paper and fabric that is waiting for the artists to play on. The bells and crystals still don't photograph well, but you get a better idea of the color play. My favorite thing about this journal is that the bells on the inside of the cover make a beautiful sound when you pick it up.
